Valor Inovação 2026: projects that show innovation in practice

Valor Inovação Brasil 2026, a study conducted by the Valor Econômico newspaper, recognizes companies that stand out for innovation across different sectors of the economy. Among the organizations featured in this edition are some clients that have been part of Smarthis' journey.

This recognition highlights how innovation is taking on an increasingly strategic role within companies, improving efficiency, adaptability, and the impact of technology on business.

These journeys are shaped by different challenges, priorities, and levels of maturity. That is why there is no single path to innovation. In some contexts, transformation begins with the automation of manual activities. In others, it advances toward data, artificial intelligence, autonomous agents, and new models of operational execution.

Below, we have gathered some examples of projects developed by Smarthis that illustrate how these technologies can be applied to different business realities.

Tax automation with measurable results

In an operation with high-volume tax processes, automation was applied to the processing of electricity invoices and the issuance of GNRE tax payment forms.

The first initiative reduced approximately 1,578 hours of work per month, while the automation of GNRE forms represents a reduction of approximately 1,620 hours per year.

Considering all the automations implemented throughout this journey, more than 43,000 hours of work are returned to the business each year, allowing teams to dedicate more time to analysis and decision-making.

An automation monitoring dashboard was also implemented to consolidate indicators such as hours saved, financial impact, and execution volume. With this integrated view, the company can monitor results and manage the evolution of its initiatives in a more structured way.

From process automation to a data strategy

In another project, ten automations were implemented in less than 45 days to transform critical processes within a Shared Services Center.

The results include more than 5,280 hours returned to the business through the automation of invoice posting, as well as a reduction from four days to less than one hour in the benefits payment process.

As the journey progressed, the transformation expanded to include a strategic data initiative. A People Analytics pilot project was structured to extract and integrate information from different HR tools, including time and attendance, payroll, and operational data.

The experience demonstrates how initial automation gains can pave the way for broader transformation, connecting processes, data, and intelligence to support decision-making.

Artificial intelligence applied to corporate support

At a Shared Services Center, employees' simple questions were directed straight to analysts, consuming time that could otherwise be dedicated to more complex requests.

To transform this dynamic, a virtual assistant integrated with Microsoft Teams was developed. It can identify user intent and retrieve internal policies and guidelines through a RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architecture.

When a request requires human assistance, the assistant automatically routes it to ServiceNow. This allows artificial intelligence to operate as an integrated part of the support workflow, combining agility, standardization, control, and traceability.

In its first three months, the assistant answered more than 400 questions and automated approximately 4,000 minutes of support. In addition to freeing analysts to focus on more strategic demands, these interactions create a knowledge base that supports continuous service improvement.

Autonomous agents at scale

A journey that began with individual automations evolved into a structured operational execution platform powered by autonomous agents.

Today, the program has more than 160 active agents in production and returns more than 400,000 hours per year to the business.

Among the transformed processes is customer onboarding, where turnaround time was reduced from up to 12 days to just a few minutes, along with initiatives related to inventory and contracts.

The journey continues through the identification of new opportunities, process redesign, and the adoption of Agentic AI models, connecting automation, artificial intelligence, and operational execution to expand the impact across different areas of the business.
